Building Partnerships
TNARS is jointly administered and supported by 12 organizations in the Thompson, Merritt, Lillooet and Clearwater areas of BC, with over 2200 employees and their families able to access these services.
The EFAP/ARS model is a unique, community-based partnership of local employers and employees. The model has six distinct and essential characteristics that set it apart:
- It is a non-profit service owned and operated at the community level by those it serves.
- There is no limit to the number of sessions per individual or family.
- It provides a broad range of intervention, prevention, and wellness services.
- It is a confidential, affordable, proactive, prevention-focused, employee benefit program.
- It provides confidential services to all employees, retirees, and family members.
- Counsellors will visit the worksite.
This model is the only one of its kind to be recognized by the United Nations, and in 1994 it was officially endorsed by the Canada Committee for International Year of the Family. |
